Traveling after school is one of the most popular choices that people take these days. Why is it? Why is the new generation so eager to travel while in the past people find a career and move up the corporate ladder right away.
Do you think it is beneficial? Or do you lose your competitive edge against other graduates?
Everyone has different thoughts and opinions, but here are some reasons people think it's necessary to travel after graduation.
1. It's better than a textbook.
You can learn more from experiencing things first hand than from a textbook. Sure, anyone can read a 'how to'... but to actually get out there and do it, experience it, and make real time decisions is something completely different.
2. The world is actually a small place.
It's easy to get from place to place. Many countries have cheap airlines that can get you from A-B from as low as 20 dollars! You will connect with people from all around the world and notice that it's not as big as you think!
3. Get out of your comfort zone
Sure it can be scary to go away, especially alone. But what's the worst that can happen? You don't like it, and you return home learning more about yourself.
4. Do it before you 'settle'
Society puts pressure on everyone to get a job, buy a house, get married, and have kids.... and once that happen it's harder to just take off and travel. Do it while your young .. enjoy it, and maybe continue taking adventurous trips as you grow older.
5. Everyone is doing it
This doesn't mean that YOU have to do it. But it's nice to be able to share travel stories and experiences from abroad.
